He drinks to numb the pain, but still wakes up shaken to the core by the abduction and all that has gone wrong since.

He also is aware that he's screwing up, but he can't open up to Aenna and get past it, which is like the lines "I couldn't tell you that I was wrong" and "I couldn't tell you that you were right." Instead of watching TV and laying awake all night, Kurit gets drunk and tries to forget.
