City/Area Information

This information refers to the prices of goods and materials in given cities/towns. I've only assembled the information for the cities surrounding my current and soon-to-be campaigns. GMs should use the generalized table if they wish to have a guide for other cities.

The data for each city/town is based partially on the city's stature and position in the world, as indicated by its City Level Number, and partially on the surrounding terrain. For example, winter items are harder to get/sell deep in the jungle than they are at the foot of a mountain. Farm villages may not have as much adventuring gear as the same size of village that caters to merchants and traders. Cities/towns located in hard-to-reach places will have a higher cost for imported goods. Low-end refers to goods that are normal for the area and not fancy or rare in any way. High-end refers to special, fancy, or imported items.

Percentages reflect buyer bonuses/penalties. For selling items, reverse the percentage, but in city levels 5-7, there may not be anyone willing to buy items that cannot be used locally. Round to the nearest whole coin. Where discounted items would be less than a gold piece and no smaller currency is available, include multiples; i.e. if a widget is 0.3 gold, make it 3 widgets for one gold or some equivalent.

Specific City Information

The transportation columns indicate what kind of animals, boats, carts, etc. are available for rent, hire, purchase, or whatever. Transportation key: SB=small boat, LB=large boat, Pack=pack animals, Wheel=wheeled. An X means that form of transportation is not available.

Import taxes generally only apply to large imports, not personal items. They may apply to large amounts of treasure if the tax collector believes you are going to sell the items in town.
